At a time when quality childhood swim lessons were a novelty, Ron and Jane Sciarro created a different kind of swim experience. In borrowed backyard pools and rented hotel facilities around the greater Phoenix area, the Sciarros offered parents a place where they could be heard, where goals for their children in the water weren’t simply a wish list, but a commitment. And Aqua-Tots Swim Schools took off!
By 2005, with the help of Paul and Heather Preston, the first indoor, year-round Aqua-Tots Swim Schools location opened in Mesa, Arizona, followed quickly by the first franchise location in 2007.
Today, Aqua-Tots Swim Schools serves over 130 communities worldwide, and our commitment to families is exactly the same as it was in 1991. Since 1991, Aqua-Tots has been an industry leader in swimming instruction. Decades of instructional experience have molded our comprehensive swimming curriculum. As an active member of the United States Swim School Association (USSSA), Aqua-Tots regularly participates in educational opportunities to maintain a high teaching standard in the swim industry. With the main focus being safety, our curriculum helps children learn how to swim and develop a lifelong love of swimming.
Every one of our instructors goes through over 40 hours of intensive classroom and in-water training. In addition, our Aqua-Tots Swim Schools Water Safety Instructors (AT-WSI) have passed an online exam and have obtained CPR training prior to receiving an AT-WSI Certification and to teaching their first swim lesson. Once certified, our instructors are assessed regularly to assure lesson quality and consistency. We want to ensure that your family receives a quality lesson, every time.
Our year-round training centers offer families a clean, safe, and family friendly teaching environment. The water is always 88-90 degrees to ensure our swimmers are comfortable in the water.

An extensive library of operations and training manuals along with video training is provided to each franchise owner.
